Deaths caused by the lockdowns?

Washington Post:

Fear of seeking care in hospitals overwhelmed by pandemic may have caused thousands of deaths

Heart conditions drove a spike in deaths beyond those attributed to covid-19, a Washington Post analysis shows.
The restrictions on elective surgeries were probably also to blame.  It turns out these restrictions were a serious mistake for the patients and for the hospitals that had to layoff staff.  Doctors were prevented from operating on patients.  It is just another aspect of how lockdowns were a serious mistake for both commerce and for health reasons.  One of the early stats during the lockdown had to do with heart attack patients not going to emergency rooms.

The expected shortage of hospital beds was never realized during the lockdown.  Some hospitals in the Houston area are shifting patients to other hospitals in the area now as cases grow following the mass gatherings for the Floyd funeral, although the media is reluctant to discuss this cause.  Most of the new patients are a younger demographic who fortunately do not have the underlying conditions that make the virus fatal for some.
