Actually wind and solar energy companies have a high failure rate too

NY Times:

Oil Companies Are Collapsing, but Wind and Solar Energy Keep Growing

The renewable-energy business is expected to keep growing, though more slowly, in
contrast to fossil fuel companies, which have been hammered by low oil and gas prices.
One of the failures of the alternative energy racket was in New York where Gov. Cuomo wasted millions on a failed solar project instead of investing in badly needed ventilators.   Of course, there was also Solyndra in the Obama administration that failed quickly.  The problem with both wind and solar energy is they are inefficient and unreliable.  They lack the ability to scale to meet demand leading to costly waste on occasion when they are overbuilt as in California.  They are also vulnerable to extreme weather failing when they are needed most.  They are at best an expensive supplement to more traditional power sources.

Oil companies are suffering from an unusual circumstance of a virus that has caused the government to restrict the movement of the population and it has nothing to do with the fundamentals of the business.  When the restrictions are lifted on movement, this business should come roaring back to life.

This story seems to be based more on liberal fantasy and the support of inefficient alternative energy than the real world.
