Trump using tariffs as leverage to get fairer trading terms in Europe now

Washington Post:

Trump threatens Europe with fresh tariffs in Davos, deepening a rift with longtime U.S. allies

Just days after he scored big wins with China, Mexico and Canada, the move highlights how President Trump is quickly pivoting to make Europe the next front in his protectionist trade war.
A more accurate statement would be that he is moving against protectionist policies in Europe now to get fairer terms for US commerce.  He is using economic leverage to get Europe to open up its markets to US goods and services.  This should actually be a benefit to both the US and European consumers.
