Biden's misbegotten speech in Iowa

Rick Johnson:
In one of the worst staged campaign appearances ever seen, former Vice President Joe Biden stammered and crawled his way through a rambling incoherent speech. The badly stilted opening appearance in Iowa follows a series of missteps by the Biden campaign. Biden repeatedly attacked Donald Trump with a treasure trove of smears and insults, labeling him an “existential threat” to democracy.

All irony was lost on the former Vice President as he assailed the President for damaging our Democratic institutions. Blaming Charlottesville on the President. And lowering the standards of the American Presidency.

Perhaps Biden should be looking in the mirror.

All this from a man whose administration weaponized the intelligence agencies against the President. Rejected and undermined the results of the 2016 election. Was a member of the “extraordinary” committee in the White House that oversaw the Russia hoax. Was part and parcel of the illegal use of NSA databases to spy on American citizens from 2012 through 2016.

So it is wildly amusing to watch Donald Trump being attacked for the exact things Joe Biden and the Obama administration engaged in. All this on the day after Special Counsel John Durham announced a widespread investigation into the origins of the Russia hoax.

Including the Obama/Biden approval to use foreign intelligence agencies to spy on the Trump campaign.

Biden looked unsteady and fumbling in a poorly managed event. Biden’s advance work for the event was sloppy to the point of being negligent. This is supposed to be the Democratic front runner?

The DNC and Biden staff knew they were giving this speech. They leaked the contents to the press beforehand. But the setting, microphone, backdrop, audio, and presentation resembled a PTA meeting rather than a campaign event. That is to say, it looked amateurish and extremely ill-planned.
...
Most of the mainstream media described the event as a tit-for-tat confrontation with Trump and ignored the poor quality of Biden's latest roll out. But it was there for all to see on the cable news outlets.
