Pelosi confirms that they will not negotiate on wall if government reopens

Washington Times:
President Trump walked out of shutdown negotiations with Democratic leaders Wednesday after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she won’t agree to any money for his border fence.

“Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time,” the president tweeted. “I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!”

Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer confirmed the walkout.

Mr. Trump had brought congressional leaders to the White House for another round of negotiations over the partial government shutdown, now nearing the end of its third week.
...
This confirms my analysis that the Democrats were operating in bad faith by suggesting they would negotiate if the government reopened.  They are playing politics with US national security and acting in bad faith for political reasons.  The government will be shut down for a long time unless the Democrats change their attitude.
