The media really underestimates Trump in his dealings with North Korea

Washington Post:
Praise for Kim Jong Un reflects Trump’s growing regard for totalitarian leaders

No U.S. president has been as free in his admiration of authoritarians and absolute power as the 45th, historians say. And President Trump’s interest in them seems to be increasing as he becomes better acquainted with leaders such as Kim, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin
This is a ridiculous analysis.

It was just a few weeks ago the media was saying Trump's insults of Kim would prevent him from getting a deal.

Now they have flipped and say his flattery of a negotiating partner is because he likes dictators.  They are wrong on both points.   In both instances, Trump is working on getting to yes in a negotiation.  Once you are in a serious negotiation you don't continue to insult the other side,  Instead, you flatter them when possible.  Trump is actually joking when he talks about how North Koreans react to Kim.

What I have noticed is that with many in the media they deliberately misinterpret his actions to put him in a negative light because they don't like him and want others to not like him.  I am beginning to wonder if the Post is ever going to understand this President and how effective he really is.
