Left bitterly clings to bad climate deal that would accomplish nothing at great expense to US

Conservative Review:
Everybody has lost their minds about Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accords.

Unelected European bureaucrats say the president can’t do it. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker told President Trump as much at the G7 conference. "We tried to explain that to Mr. Trump in Taormina in clear German sentences," he said, according to the Washington Examiner. "It seems our attempt failed, but the law is the law and it must be obeyed."

“Americans can't just leave the climate protection agreement," he said, explaining that there is a three- to four-year withdrawal process. "So this notion, 'I am Trump, I am American, America First and I'm going to get out of it' — that won't happen," Juncker said.

American liberals are accusing the president of treason. Billionaire climate alarmist Tom Steyer characterized the president’s decision as “greedy, selfish, and immoral.”
...

“If Trump pulls out of the #ParisAgreement he will be committing a traitorous act of war against the American people,” Steyer tweeted.

And anti-Trump Republicans have decided to embrace the Left’s climate agenda because Trump is opposing it.

“Trump’s pullout from the international accord would be a political act — one that signals solidarity with his climate-change denial, right-wing base that revels in scientific illiteracy,” the Washington Post’s faux conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin declared. “Being a climate-change denier — which entails dogmatic opposition to the Paris agreement — is a dog whistle to the far right.” Of course, not so long ago, Rubin was attacking the climate deal.

Meanwhile, former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says American leadership requires latching on to a global treaty that would cost as much as $750 billion and six million American jobs without the consent of Congress.
...
This supposed agreement is unenforcible and was largely an exercise in "virtue signaling" by the left.  The greedy left wants US taxpayers to pay for their virtue signaling by engaging in a huge wealth transfer that will make the US poorer and accomplish nothing in reducing the earth's thermostat.  The amount of reduction in temperature is smaller than a rounding error.  The whole process for the agreement was constructed to exclude the democratic process in the US because Obama knew he could not get approval for a treaty.  There is where the real treason comes in.

There is more on the over the top reaction to the move by Trump here and here.
