Will Assad finally be deposed as Syrian leader?

NY Times:

U.S. Weighs Military Action After Chemical Attack in Syria

  • Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson said there was “no role” for President Bashar al-Assad after the attack and vowed a “serious response.”
  • American intelligence has established with confidence that a Syrian government aircraft carried out the attack, an official said.
It is possible that Russia may be persuaded to quit backing the despot of Syria.  If not he could be taken out in a decapitation strike by US forces.  It does appear that the Trump administration is seeking expert advice from the military on a response.  That is a change from the micromanagement style of Obama.
