Illegal immigration slows dramatically

LA Times:

Rio Grande Valley is unusually quiet as illegal border crossings drop to lowest point in at least 17 years

I suspect this is largely due to a slowdown of traffic from Central America.  Those migrants usually came up the Gulf Coast of Mexico and entered the US at the Rio Grande Valley.  Deportations are having a deterrent effect as they should.
