Democrat intransigence delayed Trump's transition to less radical foreign policy

NY Times:

Trump Foreign Policy Quickly Loses Its Sharp Edge

He is proving to be less of a radical than either his campaign statements or his tempestuous early phone calls with foreign leaders would suggest.
While the media leaks tried to suggest his phone calls were "tempestuous" the participants in those calls did not see them in that light.  Trump is a New Yorker and sometimes has a tendency to be brutally frank.  But he is also a deal maker and he knows how to talk to people in a way to reach an agreement when possible.  I think having Tillerson on board, and Mattis also will help smooth out the rough edges.  The Democrats' unnecessary delay of the Tillerson confirmation was a mistake.
