Black Americans Face Alarming Rates of Coronavirus Infection in Some States

Data on race and the disease Covid-19 is too limited to draw sweeping conclusions, experts say, but disparate rates of sickness — and death — have emerged in some places.
One of the things that struck me on trips to New Orleans is how overweight many of the blacks in the area are.  The area is known for its rich food scene and clearly, the locals seem to enjoy it.  In the New York area, I suspect that the high-density population combined with the prevalence of mass transit also makes those who rely on that form of transportation vulnerable.
