Hostile media fails to dent Trump approval

NY Times:

Who Are the Voters Behind Trump’s Higher Approval Rating?

Despite the president’s slow performance on the coronavirus and his series of falsehoods, some independent voters and Democrats are giving him a measure of credit for his handling of the crisis.
Despite the media's attempt to blame Trump for not moving quickly and for being too optimistic, the voters still support him.  They know that when Trump did act to restrict travel, it was the open-borders left that falsely accused him of xenophobia and racism.  It was the left in this country that urged people to join crowds which had the effect of spreading the disease while proclaiming it was racism not to do so.

One of the reasons that so many on the left hate the President's daily briefing is that it exposes what a bunch of jerks many of the reporters are.  While they accuse Trump of "falsehoods" they distort his comments by taking them out of context and omitting material facts.

Their reporting looks like the politics of fraud when they accuse him of demanding personal appreciation from state officials while he was saying that they should be more appreciative of the efforts of FEMA and the team working to help them.  Frankly, what Trump is saying is just good leadership.  He is being supportive of the efforts of those working to help state and local officials.  It should also be noted that Trump has praised the local officials who have worked well with the team, such as Gavin Newsom and Andrew Cuomo.

The left hates the press briefings because it makes it harder for them to push their false narrative about the President's response to the virus.  You can now watch that false narrative in real-time as they pose gotcha questions and they do not like the response.
