Media supports importing more poor people on welfare

Eddie Scarry:
The national media’s unwavering opposition to everything President Trump does on immigration usually means defending the indefensible. That’s exactly what they’re doing now after the administration said it would no longer issue green cards to immigrants who need welfare.

It’s only in the news media (and the Democratic Party but that’s redundant) that you could find earnest attempts at explaining why America needs more poor people.

CNN’s Bianna Golodryga on Tuesday said it should be taken for granted that any poor foreigner can “come and rely on our safety net.”

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson called the new rule “punitive and often sadistic.”

The mass immigration advocacy group known as the Wall Street Journal editorial board admitted that the rule “makes sense as a general principle” but then regurgitated the unrelated point that “immigrants are no more likely than native-born Americans to use public benefits.” This is not true, but even if it were true, why the hell would we look at the number of actual Americans on welfare and say, "This isn't enough, let’s double it!"
...
The media appears to have unlimited generosity with other people's money.  How does importing people on public assistance help this country?  It apparently does help Democrats steal House seats they are not entitled to and that is probably the reason the media likes it.
