Russia attempts to economically strangle Ukraine as its troop movements suggest it is preparing for war against Ukraine

NY Times:

Russia Slowly Throttles a Ukrainian Port

When Russia fired on Ukrainian naval vessels, some say it was looking to rewrite the rules in the Sea of Azov and possibly elsewhere, just as China has done in the South China Sea.
Institute for the Study of War says "Russia is setting military conditions to prepare its forces for open conflict with Ukraine. Russia is already creating the pretext to escalate by circulating the false narrative that Ukraine and the West are preparing imminent attacks, including a chemical weapons attack, in Eastern Ukraine."

They suggest Russia may already be preparing bogus reports and evidence to back up their attempt to show Ukraine as the aggressor.  That would be a preposterous claim since Ukraine's forces do not have the same capacity as those of Russia.  The Institute believes the war could be launched imminently.
