Election results expose the vulnerability of the 'blue wave' theory of Democrats
Washington Post:
Ohio House race too close to call, exposing concerns over vulnerabilities in Trump coalitionThe Republican got the most votes counted at this point. If there was really a blue wave, that would not have happened. When you consider that normally the party out of power has an advantage in mid-year elections, this should be bad news for Democrats.
Republican state Sen. Troy Balderson, who was backed by President Trump, held a narrow lead over Democrat Danny O’Connor in a special election for Ohio’s 12th Congressional District. The slim margin came in a district that Trump won by 11 points in 2016 and that the GOP has controlled since 1983.
