Election results expose the vulnerability of the 'blue wave' theory of Democrats

Washington Post:
Ohio House race too close to call, exposing concerns over vulnerabilities in Trump coalition

Republican state Sen. Troy Balderson, who was backed by President Trump, held a narrow lead over Democrat Danny O’Connor in a special election for Ohio’s 12th Congressional District. The slim margin came in a district that Trump won by 11 points in 2016 and that the GOP has controlled since 1983.
The Republican got the most votes counted at this point.  If there was really a blue wave, that would not have happened.  When you consider that normally the party out of power has an advantage in mid-year elections, this should be bad news for Democrats.
