Opposition to abortion has not abated with time

With new Supreme Court Justice on the way, anti-abortion groups sense a unique moment to achieve their goal, and they’re mobilizing forces at the local level.
Opponents of abortion to see the procedure as the taking of a life of a baby.  That is a very emotional response for the millions who oppose abortion.  They are not buying the suggestion that life within the womb is not something to be protected.   With the possibility that Roe v. Wade is overturned, the issue of abortion will largely be decided at the state level. 

It is not clear to me why some women use abortion instead of contraception.  Is it because these women are too low functioning to handle contraception?  Is it because the men they are with are also too irresponsible to take precautions?  I think the vast majority of Americans are high functioning enough to deal with real family planning and not after the fact abortions.

People need to also separate abortions from Roe v. Wade.  The legal "analysis" within the case is absurd.  No one can really say what else "emanates from the penumbra" and the phrase has rarely been used as an excuse for a decision since Roe.  Both sides should work on a solution to the issue at the state legislature level.  At this point, it looks like the opponents of Roe will have a leg up on that phase.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. Bin Laden's concern about Zarqawi's remains
