Comey's double standard on legitmacy

Daily Mail:

Comey tells George Stephanopoulos that he reopened the Hillary Clinton email probe because he thought she would beat Trump and wanted her to be viewed as a 'legitimate' president
  • Ex-FBI Director James Comey is promoting his new book A Higher Loyalty
  • Comey writes about his decision to announce reopening Clinton email probe
  • Announcement 11 days before election may have cost Clinton the presidency
  • Comey writes his decision was based on belief Clinton would win White House
  • Comey sought to avoid scenario where Clinton would be viewed as illegitimate
Comey took the opposite tack when it came to Trump's legitimacy.  He was already using the dirty dossier to spy on trump and was likely behind the leak of the discussion of the dossier or at least knew who was.  The dirty dossier was a direct attack on the legitimacy of Trump's election.

Comey knew it was unverified yet he used it to get a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page in hopes that conversations between Page and the Trump campaign could be captured and used against the President-elect.

It is clear from this revelation that Comey was trying to put his thumb on the scales in favor of Clinton, although Clinton thought otherwise.  But by then he and others in the DOJ were already jumping through hoops to exonerate her from her obvious illegal mishandling of classified material.

Many in the FBI are displeased with Comey and his book.
