Texas dads overwhelm school that asked for mentors for middle school kids
Washington Post:
It was an opportunity to show young people how the Texas model of government has helped to create responsible adults who care about young people. As with Hurricane Harvey and the response to a church shooting, Texans of all stripes are willing to pitch in.
A school sought 50 men to stand in for absent fathers at ‘Breakfast with Dads’ — nearly 600 showed upI don't think they were just there for a free breakfast. It was a heartwarming event and these dads showed up dress for work. That was also a mentoring experience for the kids to learn how successful people dress up and go to work.
The response was so overwhelming that the event had to be moved from the Dallas middle school's cafeteria to the gymnasium.
