Canada finds uncontrolled immigration a problem

Any nation with common sense has its limits. One of the problems is that immigrants can become expensive nuisances in a welfare state. When the US was accepting huge numbers of immigrants the government did not provide the kinds of benefits it now gives to its citizens. Unskilled workers found the work they could or set out to the frontier to live off the land. They did not live off of welfare and free healthcare. That is another reason why many are pushing for a merit-based system to get immigrants who become immediate contributors to the communities as a whole rather than takers.Migrants Fleeing to Canada Learn Even a Liberal Nation Has Limits
