An agent who was removed this summer from the special counsel investigation of the Trump campaign was found to have exchanged text messages in 2016 that described a potential Trump victory as “terrifying.” Other messages criticized the Clinton team and the Obama administration.

At this point, the FBI and the DOJ have also lost a good bit of the trust of Republicans who see both the Clinton investigation and the Russian interference probe as being unfair. The idea that the Clinton campaign could indirectly pay Russian intelligence operatives for the dirty dossier that would then be used as a reason to spy on the Trump campaign is beyond repugnant. It is far beyond Watergate levels of corruption. It is potentially the biggest political scandal in US history. It looks like it has also been used as an attempt to overturn the election.
