If you are interested in energy efficiency there should be less subsidies for wind and solar
NY Times:
The least efficient energy production comes from solar. It produces roughly 5 percent or less of US energy, yet has as many employees as fossil fuel companies who produce most of the energy in the US. When you focus on the energy produced per employee solar comes in last. The piece is more focused on appliances that consume energy, but they should also look at the production end too.
A lot of the energy produced in America is wasted. Reducing this inefficiency means big economic and environmental benefits.
