Why would Russia be helping the North Koreans?

Washington Post:
How Russia quietly undercuts sanctions against North Korea

As China is cracking down, Russian profiteers are scurrying to the aid of North Korea with vital supplies that could help the country weather harsh new sanctions, U.S. officials said.
China has good reasons to favor the US over North Korea when it comes to trade.  Russia, not so much since it is also being sanctioned by the US.  Russia tends to see its interests in making things harder for the US in retaliation for sanctions and for Putin's unhappiness over the collapse of the Soviet Union.

  1. Perhaps it's because the US continues to undercut Russia in the world and encroach on Russia's borders? Perhaps it's because the US made a "gentleman's agreement" with the dying USSR not to expand NATO eastward in return for pulling the Red Army out of Germany and not resisting German reunification and then reneged? Perhaps it's because we have destabilized regimes friendly to Moscow right on Russia's borders? Didn't the American Shadow Government create a "Russia-hacked-the-election" hoax and have been using it for increased sanctions against Russia even though it's completely fake and made up? Didn't we just raid their consulate in San Fagcisco, technically an act of war? Are you really that stupid?
