Secretary of State explains blunt threat to North Korea

Washington Post:
Tillerson defends Trump’s forceful warning to North Korea

“What the president is doing is sending a strong message to North Korea in language that Kim Jong Un would understand, because he doesn’t seem to understand diplomatic language,” Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said during an interview with two pool reporters while flying from Malaysia to a scheduled refueling stop in Guam.
Whether or not he understands diplomatic language, he certainly is not moved by it.  Some in Washington are uncomfortable with the blunt message, including some in the military.  I am not.  If it gets the North Korean's attention and they back off good.  If it does not it will not result in further escalation of tensions because the Norks have already taken them to Defcon one.
