As the standoff grows under a new American president, a mix of national ambitions, personal ego and deadly weapons is creating opportunities for miscalculation.
North Korea is run by the epitome of a petty tyrant who orders people to be killed for the smallest slight including many of his family members.  He probably also was misled about the US by the lack fo response from "No Drama" Obama.

His government seems almost flustered by the response f the US under the Trump administration.  With most of his closest neighbors lining up against him he is losing maneuver room.  China seems fed up with his antics.  Russia only tolerates it because Putin like to create mischief for the US to deal with.
