The Kurds are more dependable allies than Turkey

NY Times:

Obama’s Stark Options on ISIS: Arm Syrian Kurds or Let Trump Decide

If President Obama chooses to forge closer military ties with the Kurds for an assault on Raqqa, ISIS’ main stronghold, he risks alienating the Turks.
I get the impression that Turkey's Erdogan was sitting on his hands hoping ISIL would engage in genocide against the Kurds to save him the bullets and explosives to do it himself.  He seems frustrated that they actually fought off ISIL.  The Kurds have then the most effective ground force in the region when it comes to fighting ISIL.

Turkey, on the other hand, claimed it was entering the war to fight ISIL and immediately started attacking the Kurds.

Whoever makes the decision, it should be to arm the Kurds.
