Trump and the generals he has nominated for the cabinet

Washington Post:
Trump’s selection of third general for Cabinet fuels concern about military clout

The president-elect is said to be drawn to generals by their swagger and dazzled by their war stories. Yet his choices are striking given his non-interventionist posture in the presidential campaign and criticism of the Iraq war.
The criticism seems to be based on the false assumption that generals are eager for war.  While they are good at it as a general rule they rarely wish for it unless they see more dangers in not going to war.

The media has been reacting badly to these appointments in some cases with many reporters suggesting that Trump is putting together a "junta."  This attempt to disparage the generals and the President-elect is par for the course when it comes to the liberal bias that exists in much of the media.
