Attacks on those responsible for its propaganda efforts have also hurt it. The two top pushers of its ideology met their demise from air strikes. Yesterday ISIL lost the town where it had said the final battle would be fought with the West. It was not much of an apocalypse. In fact, it was so anticlimactic that it barely made the news. The group has been laying ideological groundwork to maintain its appeal as it suffers on the battlefield.
