Trump is an alienation machine

NY Times:
Interviews with voters showed that many were steadfast in their support of Mr. Trump, but his crude remarks about the armed services clearly present an obstacle.
Trump alienated groups of voters throughout the primaries and adding troops to the list would not be that surprising.  His New York sarcasm does not play well in other places.  One of the problems he is having now is getting conservative voters to back him.  It is not going well.  Having insulted them in the primaries, he and his followers are doing it again by suggesting that these voters by not supporting him are supporting Hillary Clinton.

To many conservatives, that is just another insult, since they believe Hillary Clinton is a dishonest and dangerous person that they strongly oppose.  He really needs to come up with something other than "hold your nose and vote for me."
