GOP using formula used against Democrats in 2014 in congressional races

NY Times:

Down Ballot, G.O.P. Aims to Escape Trump’s Shadow

Many Republican leaders have concluded that Donald J. Trump is a threat to the party’s fortunes and its candidates for Congress.

Some strategists are preparing ads that treat Mr. Trump’s defeat as a given and urge voters to choose Republicans as a check on a Hillary Clinton White House.
Clinton has made this easier by pushing an irresponsible liberal agenda that is closer to Bernie Sanders than it is to most Americans.   It looks like she is running on a Cloward-Pivin program to bankrupt the country.  Her tax plan is the opposite of what is needed to escape the anemic growth of the Obama years.

Higher taxes and regulation are a proven formula for stagnation and that is pretty much what has happened with Obama.  She is adopting the Blue state formula of a bullet traint to bankruptcy.  She wants to make America like Illinois and Detroit.

To date, Trump has been rather scatter brained about what he would do with the economy.  This has allowed his supporters to say he is embracing their plan, regardless of what he says.  But it has also made it easier for other Republicans to ignore him.
