Fuel produced through photosynthesis appears to be competitive with gasoline

Christian Science Monitor:
Scientists invent a way to create CO2 fuel from a solar leaf

Researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago say the fuel from carbon dioxide can remove the greenhouse gas from the atmosphere, and provides a sustainable type of fuel that is as cheap as a gallon of gas.
If confirmed, this would mean the fuel is much more efficient in producing energy that current methods of alternative energy.  While it would appear to meet the stated objectives of Big Green, whether they would accept it is an open question.

If it is as claimed, I would guess that energy companies would be interested in producing it and marketing it.
