More casualties in the war against the cops as 3 are dead in Baton Rouge, others shot

The Advocate:

--Shooting happened near Airline and Old Hammond highways around 9 a.m.

Update, 10:48 a.m.

At least two law enforcement officers were killed Sunday morning in a shooting on Airline Highway near Old Hammond Highway, and others were wounded, authorities confirmed.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said about 10:15 that the area is still an active scene.

Both lanes of Airline Highway are shut down from Goodwood Boulevard to Old Hammond Highway and from Old Hammond to Drusilla Drive, Hicks said.

About 20 police officers wearing bulletproof vests are near the scene and a helicopter is flying overhead.

Armed police officers were stationed at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where a coroner's vehicle had pulled up.

The terrorist attack on the cops is apparently a product of the emotions stirred after a police shooting of a black man who was resisting arrest.  This is likely to be another black mark against the Black Lives Matter Movement and for President Obama who has refused to label it a terrorist organization.

Update:  This story indicates "two Baton Rouge Police officers and one East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office deputy are dead following the shooting."

The NY Times reports:

3 Officers Dead, 7 Wounded in Shootout in Baton Rouge

The police were responding Sunday to a shooting in Louisiana that left at least three officers dead and seven others wounded, officials said.
