Clinton sinks into a tie with Trump at 40

Emails Weigh on Clinton, Poll Finds, as Trump Pulls Even

Hillary Clinton has emerged from the investigation into her email practices a wounded candidate, with many voters saying she cannot be trusted, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

She is now tied with Donald J. Trump in a general election matchup, the poll indicates, with each receiving the support of 40 percent of voters.
It is not so much what Trump has done to "pull even" as it is what she did to herself with her obsession with trying to avoid accountability that wound up exposing classified information to potential hackers.  She did it to herself and has wound up wasting millions on negative ads about Trump to no avail.  Trump did gain about three points, by doing almost nothing while Clinton lost three to pull them into a tie.

If the GOP had a better candidate, she should be losing in a landslide.  But in a state like Colorado, she has a substantial lead over Trump, I think largely because he insulted the voters of that state when they rejected him during the caucuses.  This is despite the fact that they are both deeply unpopular in the state.

I think Clinton has also made her situation worse by going to the far left and embracing some of Bernie Sanders kookie ideas.  She is probably the most far left Democrat candidate since McGovern.
