The convictions of three young men in Minneapolis on federal terrorism charges has created fractured families and opinions in the nation’s largest Somali community.
Those who do not think that what these men did should be a crime must believe that jihadism is not a crime.   There are significant numbers of Muslims who back the radical Islamist approach and are willing to commit mass murder to achieve their objectives.  That they are being open about that belief after this trial is revealing.  It also makes the case for better screening of Muslim immigrants.
