Cruz critical of Obama's toilet tyranny
The Hill:
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blasted President Obama on Saturday over his administration’s new guidelines advising public schools to allow transgender students to use bathrooms that match their gender identity.Cruz went on to say it was time to get rid of Common Core and the Department of Education. Obama is trying to normalize the Democrats embrace of deviancy.
“The president issued a decree to every public school in America, demanding that they change their bathroom policies,” Cruz said during the Texas GOP convention in his first major speech since dropping out of the presidential race.
“Demanding that every public school now allow grown men and boys into the little girls’ bathroom.”
“We have entered the world of politically correct lunacy,” he added.
Cruz blasted the president for what he saw as executive overreach infringing on states’ rights.
“And there is nothing in the constitution that gives the president the power to be the bathroom police for this country,” he said. “This is an embodiment of just how off track we’ve gotten, that the president believes he can decree to every public school in America, ‘I, Barack Obama, am in charge of bathroom policy in your elementary school.’”
