Restoring food stamp eligibility requirements will put more people back to work

NY Times:

Thousands Could Lose Food Stamps as States Restore Pre-Recession Requirements

More than 500,000 people are estimated to soon lose food stamps as states reimpose time limits and work requirements that were suspended in recent years because of high unemployment.
When Maine restored the requirements which also included meeting with officials to see about a job, they found many did not show up because they were already working. In other words, they were cheating.  Others decided to go back to work and found the jobs more valuable than the food stamps.  Imagine that.   The work requirements are on people without children as a general rule.
