US should be bombing the Taliban

Washington Post:

Senior Pentagon officials complained that Gen. John F. Campbell, who commanded U.S. forces in Afghanistan until earlier this month, broke with standard procedure when he forwarded his proposal directly to the White House without the backing of Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter.
I suspect he wanted to get the request on the President's desk and put him on notice of the military need for the bombing.  Obama may have been using the DOD to block the request to avoid having to make a decision.   Not bombing the Taliban has been a mistake that has led to their capture of territory and more people coming under their tyranny.  Obama seems to have this weird belief that he can end wars by halting attacks on the enemy when the opposite is more likely to result in ending it.
