Donald J. Trump’s opponents hope his latest provocation of Ted Cruz may be too much to bear for well-mannered voters in heavily evangelical Christian South Carolina.
Trump is probably the most inarticulate major candidate in recent memory.  He appeals to the raw anger of his blue collar base with coarseness rather than arguments on the merits of his vague proposals.  It is enough to make many voter wince.  But if you like profane insults, he is your guy.
