Obama thinks homicidal Islamic religious bigots in Iran will act 'rationally'
Jeffrey Goldberg:
They failed to understand that the Iranian rulers feel compelled by their religious beliefs to destroy Israel and others who do not accept their weird beliefs. In the religious context this means they would be excluded from Paradise in the after life if they did not pursue that goal. So they are weighing the timing and opportunity to act on their belief which is not necessarily a rational process. These are the same people who see such a conflagration as an opportunity to spead the world toward its destruction.
Why Iran’s Anti-Semitism MattersI have a different point of view from Obama and Kerry. If the Iranian regime were rational they would not be homicidal Islamic religious bigots to begin with. I also think this shows the administration's secular view of the world.
A close read of Obama and Kerry’s comments on whether Iranian leaders seek Israel’s destruction
