Voters in seven key states oppose immigration reform bill

West Virginia: 72% oppose S.744 while only 20% support it.

There is a discussion of the breakdown for each state at the link above.  I think most of these states have a Senate election in 2014 so it is a none to subtle message.  Five of the states with elections are currently held by Democrats.  The biggest problem I see with the current proposal is that it does not address the primary problem with the current law.  There is no effective deterrent to future illegals to come here.   As long as they don't get caught committing a felony they are home free whether they are covered by the amnesty or not.
