Obama's radical nominees spark resistance

NY Times:
G.O.P. Delays on Nominees Raise Tension
After Republicans used Senate rules to block two nominees in committee despite majority support, Democrats are planning to force committee votes without Republican consent.
Thomas Perez at Labor and Gina McCarthy at the EPA have both shown themselves to be ideologues.  They would both be bad for the country.  The EPA is already seen as a rogue agency trying to impose goo-goo liberalism through arbitrary rule making.  Perez has shown a high handedness that makes him ill suited for running a cabinet department.  They will both have tempestuous times in office if the Democrats force their approval.
