Perry talks about jobs in New Hampshire

NY Times:

...

“I’m tired of liberals who only care about jobs just to staff up more government programs,” Mr. Perry said, speaking from a Manchester front yard. “I want to create jobs so that families can have more income, so families can live free. Jobs are about dignity for American families, so that people are able to live the American dream.”

He added: “I’ll promise you this, I’ll go to the Oval Office every day and try to make Washington, D.C., as inconsequential in your life as I can. Every day!”

Mr. Perry also attacked President Obama over his health care plan, making a promise that his fellow Republican rival, Mitt Romney, often trots out on the stump.

“I will repeal Obamacare as soon as possible, the first day I step into the Oval Office, with a signature on the Executive Order,” Mr. Perry said.

Though Mr. Perry did not mention any of the Republican field by name, he praised them in the most general of terms, and sought to set himself apart from Mr. Obama.

“In the coming months, you’re going to hear a lot of appeals from my Republican friends who are running for president,” Mr. Perry said. “Let me just go on the record: We’re all good men and women. But as we consider this economic misery that spread across this country by the Obama administration, we don’t need a nominee who’s going to blur the differences between themselves and Barack Obama. We’re going to have a nominee who draws a clear contrast.”

The differences between himself and Mr. Obama, he said, “are great.”

“He’s lost more than a million jobs while he’s been president, I’ve created a million jobs since I’ve been the governor,” Mr. Perry said. “He’s increased debt by $4 trillion, I’ve signed six balanced budgets.”

...
He can draw a real contrast on several areas of governing. He is also talking about creating jobs without wasting a trillion dollars. He may have to reduce some jobs in Washington in the process, particularly in the regulatory agencies. It is the over regulation of health care, finance and energy that have dragged this economy to a halt. Reducing and doing away with those regulations will unleash American business and create hundreds of thousands of jobs.
