Thailand seizes Nork weapons shipment

Thailand has seized a cargo plane refuelling in Bangkok airport, which it says was carrying weapons from North Korea to an unknown destination.

The five crew members were also detained.

Rocket-propelled grenades, missiles and other weapons were found aboard, military investigators said.

It is believed that the plane had made an emergency request to refuel. It had taken off from the North Korean capital Pyongyang, the Thai Air Force said.

According to local media reports, four members of the crew are from Kazakhstan, and one from Belarus.

Thai officials said they had acted on a tip-off from foreign intelligence, with one official telling Reuters news agency, on condition of anonymity, that the US had supplied the information.

"It [the plane] came from North Korea and was heading for somewhere in South Asia, probably Pakistan," the same official added.

Another unconfirmed report suggested Sri Lanka as the destination.

The crew claimed they were flying oil drilling equipment. Pakistan seems an unlikely spot for a weapons shipment since they are getting most of theirs free from the US right now. Sri Lanka has recently finished its civil war. That makes me suspect Iran or Syria.

However, if they were being flown to Pakistan, they were likely to be smuggled to the Taliban or al Qaeda.

    That North Korea has nothing but trouble for the World.
    How is it America supports China by trading are jobs. Then China supports North Korea to supply weapons to kill our soldiers, plus others?

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility
