Palin leaving as Alaska's Governor at end of July
Fox News:
In listening to her speech, I got the impression that the bad faith attacks on her before the ethics commission were keeping her from being able to do the job of governor. Then there were all the bad faith charges by national Democrats and their aiders and abettors in the media and on the comedy shows.
The NY Times has a pretty fair piece on the announcement. CNN was much more negative. There is video of her announcement here.
Update: I an not interested in rationed health care that the comment below is pushing. I do not know many people who don't have descent health care including those who don't have employer paid care.
It should be noted that the so called employer paid plans are just a reduction in your salary that is used to pay for it. Accountants call it "burden" and it includes other cost like the "employer paid" portion of Social Security. Department heads budget by looking at total employee cost in addition to salary.
If you have a government option your pay will be further reduced to pay for someone else's health care.
This is certainly a surprise, but it does give her much more flexibility in pursuing her political and personal objectives. She can certainly devote more time working on her book and she would also be available for TV roles be what they may.Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin shocked the political word Friday by announcing that she will step down at the end of the month and transfer power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.
Palin made the announcement from her home in Wasilla, flanked by her husband, Todd, and family and state commissioners.
Palin's decision now allows her to avoid the difficult task of running for president while serving as governor.

She is a quitter, which is something she would have done if ever to make VP. Not. She got in a fight with David Letterman, yet those who know would have taken the higher road and not responded to it whatsoever. Things are said about politicians all the time with not response but she took it personally, something y0u cannot do while being in such a position. God help us should she ever make it, not because she is a woman (there are plenty other qualified women), but becasuse she is Sarah Palin. She does too good of a job opening her mouth and stepping in.
ReplyDeleteForget Palin/Please give these insurance-whipped Dem Senators a piece of your mind.

What would be the only way Alaska could have complete control of all the oil and gas reserves within her boundaries?
ReplyDeleteWhat did Governor Palin repeat several times during her announcement? Her desire to see Alaska’s populace financially secure and energy independent!
The idiot boyfriend of Bristol, Levy Johnston said something on Good Morning America that caught my attention, When they mentioned Palin seeing Russia from Alaska; he said he remembered her mentioning they could see Seeds.
I think they are planning to secede.
