Imhof tries to keep Gitmo detainees out of US

You can sign his petition here. Since most Americans oppose moving the detainees here this presents a real dilemma to Democrats who are being pressured by the White House to close the Gitmo detention facility and bring them to the US.

I have always argued that it made more sense to keep Gitmo open and keen the detainees there until the end of hostilities. What is happening is that the President and many liberal Democrats are stuck in the failed lawfare mode of the past. They seem to forget that in a war you can keep the enemy detainees until it is over.
