Freshmen Dems get antsy about deficit

The Hill:

Freshman Democrats, worried that the ballooning budget deficit is stoking voter anxiety, are urging House leaders to put forward a “credible” plan this year to cut it.

They say the need is urgent and a serious deficit-reduction measure must be added by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other leaders to an already jam-packed legislative agenda.

“My constituents are very concerned about the deficit,” said freshman Rep. Dina Titus (D-Nev.), elected with 47 percent of the vote in a swing district last year. “This is really starting to resonate.”

...
They must have noticed all those Tea Parties and the most recent polling. I think this is why Obama is trying to force through the big spending items this summer before the voters turn on him completely. Of course the Democrats who have to face the voters in 2010 have more immediate concerns.

Merv:

Good post! I would be very surprised, however, if Princess Pelosi is the one who offers any restitution to help reel in the deficit. Democrats should be worried, and hopefully Senate Democrats that vote yes to Cap & Trade, like their House counterparts should know their political careers are coming to a swift end in 2010.

Capital Hill will really be listening when we park on its doorstep for the Taxpayer Revolt on September 10-12.

And also know Merv, that summers already here and the voters turned on Obama last night during his All-Star Game introduction. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

You are right on; Obama is stuffing the pipeline full of socialist crap before the sheen wears off "I WON"
