Northern Virgina's Rep. Moron

Washington Times Editorial:

It's not every day that a congressman asks for terrorists to be shipped to his hometown. So we were surprised to see Rep. Jim Moran, Democrat of Virginia, pen a column entitled "From Guantanamo to Alexandria" in Saturday's Washington Post. He actually championed the idea of bringing terrorists like 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and other al Qaeda detainees to historic Alexandria. What's next? Does he want the nuclear waste that Nevada won't take?

While acknowledging that other solutions might be suitable, Mr. Moran wrote: "Taking the easy route and joining the chorus of those crying 'not in my backyard' is appealing. But that's not the Alexandria I know and have represented in Congress for nearly 20 years."

Alexandria is an attractive town, but Moran would be wise to not remind people of some of its history. During the war of 1812 after the British had burned Washington and were on the way back to their ships, the leaders of Alexandria decided to row and out and surrender their town to looting. That was about as unintelligent a move as Moran's latest offer to bring in terrorist for trials.

Moran has been an anti war puke for much of the time since 9-11, while still pumping in earmarks into the defense budget for things not needed for the war effort. He is a disgraceful Democrat who deserves to be defeated.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
