Al Qaeda's insults continue with Obama

Washington Post:

Soon after the November election, al-Qaeda's No. 2 leader took stock of America's new president-elect and dismissed him with an insulting epithet. "A house Negro," Ayman al-Zawahiri said.

That was just a warm-up. In the weeks since, the terrorist group has unleashed a stream of verbal tirades against Barack Obama, each more venomous than the last. Obama has been called a "hypocrite," a "killer" of innocents, an "enemy of Muslims." He was even blamed for the Israeli military assault on Gaza, which began and ended before he took office.

"He kills your brothers and sisters in Gaza mercilessly and without affection," an al-Qaeda spokesman declared in a grainy Internet video this month.

The torrent of hateful words is part of what terrorism experts now believe is a deliberate, even desperate, propaganda campaign against a president who appears to have gotten under al-Qaeda's skin. The departure of George W. Bush deprived al-Qaeda of a polarizing American leader who reliably drove recruits and donations to the terrorist group.

...

So did George Bush get under their skin or was he just polarizing? What this story demonstrates is the arrogant bias of the left when it comes to President Bush. Al Qaeda was hurling insults at bot Bush and Obama, because they represent the enemy of these religious bigots. It is beyond ignorance to suggest that al Qaeda threw insults at Bush because he was "polarizing." It is also ignorant to suggest that they are doing it to Obama because he gets under their skin.

I suppose the writers think Obama is not polarizing because conservatives do not engage in the childish insults that many on the left did with their opposition to President Bush. It is pretty naive to think that al Qaeda was going to be amenable to Obama's soothing words. Al Qaeda hates us because they are religious bigots and they see us as an obstacle to their desire to make the world submit to their weird religious views. That did not change with Obama's election and it want change with his presidency.

What has changed is the media's coverage of their insults when the guy they are in the tank for is on the receiving end.
