Naked voting required

James Taranto:

Here's a disturbing report from WSET-TV in Lynchburg, Va.:
The State Board of Elections decided today to adopt a ban on clothing, including buttons and hats that directly endorse a candidate or issue.
The ban is effective within 40 feet of a polling place.

At first we thought: This can't be right. Probably there's supposed to be a comma after "hats." But no, the headline on the story is "State Board Agrees With Clothing Ban." Apparently Virginians won't be allowed to vote unless they are starkers.

Oh, in case you're wondering, the polls clothe at 7 p.m.

They will be in for a shock when naked Republicans show up too. At least these guys should have no problem with the requirement.
