Cold thoughts of a columnist

Maureen Dowd was sent to Alaska and wonders from one Palin enemy to another, which is not that easy considering they make up such a small minority of the population.

...

R. D. Levno, a retired school principal, flew in from Fairbanks. “She’s a child, inexperienced and simplistic,” she said of Sarah. “It’s taking us back to junior high school. She’s one of the popular girls, but one of the mean girls. She is seductive, but she is invented.”
It appears that Levno is not the only one who flew in to say ugly things about the most popular governor in America. It is clear that the NY Times will do everything in its power to change that popularity. Its attacks on Palin have been relentless since her candidacy was announced.

The paper has not been this goofy on a story since they attacked the Master's Golf Tournament. There they were attacking because women were not allowed as members of the club. Here they are attacking because they do not want conservative women to be members of the political club.

It is safe to say that Dowd will not have this column submitted for a Pulitzer. It is one of her worst.
