Spinning arugula

The Washington Post comes to the defense of arugula and Obama. Only a liberal Democrat would get this kind of story, but the fact is that they are the most likely to need it.

It reminds me of the stories in the mainstream media about the importance of lying about sex when Clinton was doing so. You notice those stories were not recirculated for John Edwards, because he was already toast as opposed to the toast of liberalism. In fact Edwards was treated like a regular cad.

The reason Edwards got different treatment is that power in Washington was not at stake. The reason arugula is getting a defense is because power in Washington may be at stake if voters decide it is elitist.

I want to be clear that romaine lettuce is not elitist. I still remember the Dan Akroyd routine on Saturday Night Live where he pretended to be the head of the Romaine Lettuce Association in its never ending battle with iceberg lettuce. I have not been able to find clips of the routine, but if anyone has a link I will add it.
